Happy (Blessed) Thanksgiving

From George Washington's first Thanksgiving Proclamation:
"Whereas both Houses of Congress have by their joint Committee requested me 'to recommend to the People of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness.'"
Amen.

With that said, we should eliminate the holiday from all schools and give them a 'discretionary day' to use as seen fit. God, I mean, the government forbid we express gratitude towards God, much less use the name in our Pledge of Allegiance or science books.

Did I just call it a holiday? That word can't be used anymore either because it's derivative and insinuative of a 'holy day' - a word unfit for our society.
